  • Education for Happiness Chamber Music Workshop
    February 2–6, 2026 • Optional prep coachings: January 17 & 24, 10–12pm

    Built on the principles of PhoenixPhest and over 20 years of teaching by Gabe Bolkosky, the Education for Happiness Chamber Music Workshop offers five days of chamber music study that nurture both musical skill and personal growth. The workshop emphasizes collaboration, helping students deepen their musicianship, connection, and joy.

    Participants are grouped by age and level, receive assigned music in advance, and work with Gabe Bolkosky, Steffani Kitayama, Debra Lonergan, and Lauren Pulcipher. There are individual coachings, supervised rehearsals, and group sessions on rehearsal process, score study, and performance. The week culminates in a final concert on February 6. Pre-formed groups are welcome.

    Sample Schedule:
    4:30pm Group Session and supervised rehearsals (all groups will meet together for a session on chamber music techniques or have supervised rehearsal time)
    5pm Individual Group Coachings (each group will have one on one time with a coach)
     
  • This four-day intensive, EFH Summer Chamber Music Workshop, offers participants dedicated time to study specific chamber works and broader ensemble concepts. We focus on the core pillars of chamber music: creative collaboration, individual accountability, and the joy of ensemble playing. The program is modeled after Director Gabe Bolkosky’s long-running PhoenixPhest! Chamber Music Festival.
    Open to all ages and skill levels.

    Final Showcase: A concert on the final day where groups share the work they’ve explored.

  • If you’ve been curious about the Suzuki Method, join us for a three-day introductory workshop for parents of new students.

    The home environment is the foundation of a child's musical education. This workshop provides a thoughtful introduction to the Suzuki philosophy and the practice of learning an instrument, minus the high-pressure comparisons often found in other extracurriculars.
